Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was one of many professional athletes who didn’t hold back criticizing the officials from the National Championship game between UNC and Gonzaga.

Expectations are high for Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff heading into his first full season as the starter, and rightfully so when looking at the coaching staff the organization has put together under Sean McVay to work with the former No. 1 pick. But with the start of training camp still a few months away, Goff along with plenty of other NFL stars spent Monday night watching the National Championship game between UNC and Gonzaga.

While the Tar Heels went on to defeat the Bulldogs for their sixth national championship, there seems to be plenty of college basketball fans across the country, including Goff, that seemed unhappy with the officiating that took place from the title game. Between missing a key out of bounds call that would have helped Gonzaga late in the game to the officials calling way too many questionable fouls, it’s easy to see why Goff and plenty of other professional athletes didn’t hold back chiming in about the officials on social media.

For those who watched the game, it’s tough to disagree with Goff when considering the officials called 44 fouls in the game, which is almost unheard of for a basketball game. Instead of calling so many fouls, the officials should have just respected the toughness UNC and Gonzaga brought to the table by letting them play like Goff said.

As for Goff in general, at least the second-year quarterback must feel a little better accepting the results from the title game since his alma mater California wasn’t participating in the big event. If that was the case, there’s a good chance Goff’s responses to the officiating crew from the title game would have been a lot more intense on social media.
