Los Angeles Rams Schedule Visit With Purdue WR DeAngelo Yancey
By Dan Parzych
The Los Angeles Rams will consider DeAngelo Yancey another possible option for the 2017 NFL Draft.
With the 2017 NFL Draft less than two weeks away, the Los Angeles Rams have plenty of great options to consider when it comes to providing Jared Goff with another option to work with in the passing game. Over the last few weeks, the Rams have scheduled meetings with numerous players worth consideration, and it looks like Purdue wide receiver DeAngelo Yancey can officially add his name to that list.

Josh Norris reported on Friday how Yancey has officially scheduled a visit with Los Angeles, as the team looks to improve their offense that only averaged 14 points per game in 2016. Even though the Rams hope to see Robert Woods turn out to be a steal after signing the wideout in free agency, it’s clear the team still needs to take advantage of the talent from this year’s draft class at wide receiver.
Yancey seems to have the type of size (6’2″) Los Angeles would love to see at wide receiver since their current group of playmakers is undersized, and it will be interesting to see how the meeting goes between the two parties. The numbers for Yancey may not standout like some of the other players the team has already met with, but the 97 receptions for 1,651 yards with 15 touchdowns over his final two seasons with the Boilermakers are quite impressive.

The Rams realize they can’t afford to waste any time with the development of Goff, and if they truly want to get the best out of the former No. 1 pick, at least one new wide receiver needs to be selected a few weeks from now. Whether Yancey will be that player selected when Los Angeles is on the clock, only time will tell for the Purdue wideout.
