4. Seattle Seahawks, Week 5 and 15

With all due respect to the Arizona Cardinals, when it comes to the top rivalries in the NFC West to look forward to, it’s the Seattle Seahawks for the Los Angeles Rams. For reasons that are difficult to explain, the Rams tend to play some of their best football against the Seahawks over the last couple of years by winning four of the previous six meetings.

Seeing Los Angeles defeat Seattle in Week 2 of the 2016 season despite failing to find the end zone once the entire game was quite impressive, but unfortunately it didn’t work the second time around in Week 15. That game marked the first time in Jared Goff‘s career he got to face the defense of the Seahawks, and to say it was a rough outing would be a huge understatement sine the former No. 1 pick was evaluated for a concussion after a brutal hit from Richard Sherman.

Hopefully, Goff’s two meetings against Seattle in 2017 will be much easier to deal with after Los Angeles improved their offensive line with the signing of Andrew Whitworth along with the addition of Robert Woods in the passing game. If the Rams are going to have any shot, even if it seems like a long one, at competing for the division title in 2017, they will need to continue their recent success against the defending NFC West champions in the Seahawks.
