30. Pittsburgh Steelers: Michigan SS Jabrill Peppers
Forget about all of the “controversy” surrounding Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers and realize this is one of the most dangerous players in the NFL Draft due to his ability to play multiple positions on the field. If his time at Michigan is any indication of what could be in store for the future, Peppers is going to be a stud at the NFL level, and make the team that decides to bring him on board extremely happy.
As for which team would be the best fit for the former Michigan star, the Pittsburgh Steelers have established a well-known history for elite defenses, and even if the unit isn’t anywhere close to the level from a few years ago, they did play well down the stretch in 2016. Give the Steelers credit for focusing on taking care of their offensive superstars in Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell in free agency, but it’s no secret that defense is going to be the deciding factor if this squad is going to have any chance of taking down the New England Patriots in the AFC.
If there were a team that seemed capable of getting the best playmaking abilities out of Peppers, it would be the Steelers when seeing the level of success with numerous players over the years. And what’s even more exciting is when looking at some of the other needs for team leading up to this point in the first round, chances are Peppers will be available for Pittsburgh.
