21. New Orleans Saints

To say this offseason has been a roller coaster ride for the New Orleans Saints would be a huge understatement when considering all of the moves this team has been through. From trading an unhappy wide receiver in Brandin Cooks to the New England Patriots to recently signing Adrian Peterson, the 2017 season could turn out to be an interesting one for the Saints.

Even if the loss of Cooks hurts for what was already a stacked offense, New Orleans should be just fine with Drew Brees under center when considering he’s coming off a 2016 season in which he threw for 5,208 yards to go along with 37 touchdowns. While Cooks deserves some credit for the success Brees had with helping the offense be one of the best in the league, it still didn’t takeaway from how poorly the defense looked throughout the entire season.

There’s only so many points an offense can score on their own if the defense isn’t going to do their job, and clearly this was the area the Saints needed to focus on in the draft. Luckily for them, one of the most talented cornerbacks from this year’s draft happened to slip out of the top 10 in Marshon Lattimore, as the former Buckeye will get an opportunity for some significant playing time as a rookie.
