15. Philadelphia Eagles

When it came to the Philadelphia Eagles entering the NFL Draft, nobody really knew what to expect from the team early on since they could have gone a number of directions on both sides of the football to fill numerous needs. Eagles fans seem to have mixed feelings towards the team’s first-round pick in Derek Barnett, but when it comes to his ability to stopping the run, this could turn out to be a great addition for the defense.

As for the other team needs, Philadelphia hopes the selection of Sidney Jones in the second round turns out to be one of the biggest steals of the draft when considering he most likely would have been a first rounder if it wasn’t for that devastating Achilles tendon tear at his pro day in March. Assuming all goes well with the recovery process, Jones should be able to return to his old dominant self, and as Pro Football Focus pointed out, it should be noted that he didn’t allow a single touchdown in coverage during the 2016 season.

The Eagles were considered one of the winners during free agency thanks to landing arguably the top receiver available in Alshon Jeffery to provide Carson Wentz with a reliable weapon in the passing game. Between this and the additions of two receivers from the draft in Mack Hollins and Shelton Gibson, year two should be much smoother for Wentz running the offense.
