2017 NFL Power Rankings: Los Angeles Rams benefit from NFL Draft

32. Chicago Bears
Let’s be honest, nobody in a million years could have predicted the Chicago Bears would have traded up in the draft to select Mitch Trubisky at No. 2, especially since the team wasn’t in need of adding a quarterback. The fact that Chicago drafted Trubisky despite signing Mike Glennon to a hefty contract during the offseason shows why most fans were frustrated after the first round, and it will be interesting to see how this quarterback battles plays out moving forward.
The Bears can say whatever they want about Glennon being their starter at quarterback, but football fans have seen this situation plenty of times over the years in the NFL. All it takes is Trubisky to look impressive in training camp and the preseason for the rookie to be considered for the starting job heading into Week 1.
Glennon may be considered the favorite at the moment, and certainly has every reason in the world to feel betrayed by Chicago for using their first-round pick on a quarterback. For a team that only won three games all of last year, Solomon Thomas seemed like the wise pick at No. 2 once the Bears made the trade with the 49ers, not Trubisky.
