2017 NFL Power Rankings: Los Angeles Rams benefit from NFL Draft

10. Houston Texans
It’s still amazing to think how the Houston Texans were able to convince the Cleveland Browns to agree to a trade for Brock Osweiler after providing the quarterback with one of the most ridiculous contracts from last offseason. Osweiler was brought on board to help the Texans reach the next level on offense, and unfortunately for them, any other quarterback under center would have given the team a much better chance of defeating the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Now that Osweiler is officially out of the picture, Houston was one of numerous teams expected to make a run at a quarterback in the first round, and apparently they didn’t want to risk missing out on Deshaun Watson after trading up with the Cleveland Browns. There was plenty of debate surrounding Watson, and whether he was worthy of a first-round pick, but the former Clemson star quarterback should give Tom Savage a run for his money when it comes to the starting job.
Turnovers may have been an issue for Watson during his final two seasons with the Tigers, but luckily the Texans have surrounded the offense with enough weapons to be successful. But first, it’s up to Watson to prove he deserves to be the starter as a rookie, and beat Savage out for the job over the next few months.
