30. New York Jets
After seeing the New York Jets take a major step back in 2016, give the team credit for making one of the best picks in the first round with the selection of safety Jamal Adams at No. 6. For a team in desperate need of help with improving the secondary, early indications point to Adams being the type of player that’s going to payoff for the Jets big time in the long run.
There’s a reason why Adams was considered one of the best safeties from this year’s draft, as the former LSU standout finds himself in a position to make an immediate impact with his new defense. New York may have been the laughing stock of the AFC East in 2016 after falling just shy of the playoffs the previous season, but hopefully the addition of Adams will be good enough to build the defense around.
With all due respect to the Jets, this team seems like it’s going to need at least a year or two to work with their current roster before reaching the level of contenders again. But after seeing all of the changes in the offseason, at least New York seems to be getting a fresh start after free agency and the draft.
