San Francisco 49ers (December 31)

In their only season with Chip Kelly as head coach, the San Francisco 49ers only managed to win two games in 2016. Sadly, both of those games happened to come against the Los Angeles Rams, with the first one coming in Week 1 after the 49ers happened to record a shutout during their 28-0 victory over their division rivals.

This time around, the Rams will be hosting the 49ers during the final week of the 2017 season, and even though these two teams seem like long shots to win the NFC West at this point, who knows what to expect a few months from now. Based off the last few seasons, it’s easy to see why the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals are considered the two favorites to compete for the title once again in 2017.

But when seeing all of the changes made by the Rams and 49ers over the last few months, at least the two organizations have been taking the necessary steps in the right direction to become contenders again in the NFC West. Anything is possible when it comes to playing in the NFL, and as crazy as it sounds, imagine the excitement surrounding Los Angeles in their throwback jerseys if this somehow becomes a meaningful game from a playoff standpoint.
