2017 NFL Power Rankings: Where do Los Angeles Rams stand during OTAs?
By Dan Parzych
32. Chicago Bears
Just like the Los Angeles Rams, the 2016 season was filled with plenty of struggles for the Chicago Bears, especially at the quarterback position. Parting ways with Jay Cutler was no easy decision, but at least the Bears were smart enough to realize this was the necessary move to improve off of last year’s three-win season.
With that being said, Chicago could end up having one of the most interesting quarterback battles heading into training camp between Mike Glennon and Mitch Trubisky. The Bears made a big move in free agency by signing Glennon to a hefty deal, but moving up one spot in the recent draft to land Trubisky came as quite the surprise to the fan base since they already seemed to be set at quarterback.
Obviously, Chicago wouldn’t have used such a high draft pick on Trubisky if they didn’t have any intention of making him the quarterback of the future. The organization can say whatever they want about Glennon being the starter heading into Week 1, but this situation has happened on numerous occasions in the NFL where a guy like Trubisky emerges out of nowhere to win the job.
