One NFL writer believes the Los Angeles Rams will only record four wins in 2017 for the second year in a row.

With the beginning of training camp only a few days away, all eyes will be on whether the Los Angeles Rams have what it takes to improve from last year’s 4-12 finish after all of the key changes made during the offseason. From making Sean McVay the youngest head coach in NFL history to bringing on addition weapons at wide receiver to hopefully bring the best out of second-year quarterback Jared Goff, the Rams deserve a little credit for making these necessary moves to avoid another disaster season.

Only time will tell when it comes to whether Los Angeles will be able to top last year’s win mark when considering they still have a lot to prove in training camp and preseason before Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts officially arrives. On Monday, USA Today‘s Nate Davis released his record projections for each NFL teams, and when it comes to the Rams, McVay and company better hope his predictions turn out to be wrong.

Here’s a look at what Davis had to say about Los Angeles in his projections:

"Los Angeles Rams (4-12): They’re a young team undergoing significant resets on both sides of the ball. And after opening with two winnable games (Colts, Redskins) at home, the Rams play five of the next six away from the L.A. Coliseum, including a “home” game in London bracketed by East Coast games in Jacksonville and New York."

As bad as this sounds, this prediction by Davis is similar to a majority of NFL writers across the country, since many believe 2017 is going to be a year of growing pains for the Rams, and it’s easy to understand why. While the defense should be in solid shape assuming Aaron Donald shows up to training camp on time, how far Los Angeles can go this season will fall on the shoulders of Goff at quarterback.

Goff received some benefit of the doubt last year as a rookie for his struggles after failing to win a single game in seven starts, but those excuses will no longer work when seeing the key adjustments made on the offense through free agency and the NFL Draft. Based off how comfortable Goff has looked over the last few months in McVay’s new offense, here’s to hoping the Rams quarterback can prove Davis incorrect by helping the team top that four-win prediction.
