By Steve Rivera
The Los Angeles Rams face some long odds at not just getting to the Super Bowl in Minneapolis, but actually winning it . That said, history has a few teams who beat Vegas, and claimed an unlikely crown.
Los Angeles Rams fans who were wondering about early reservations in Minneapolis for this year’s Super Bowl can rest easy. That said, if you’re in America’s favorite playground this weekend, Las Vegas, feel free to go to the window and drop a sawbuck or two on the home team.

The Rams are a whopping 150-1 shot to win the big game. As one who would routinely bet/hope/pray on my beloved Chicago Cubs every season, I can understand how it feels to do what is akin to taking $20.00 and tossing it out of a moving car.
But hey, it’s Vegas baby. And seriously, what’s another couple of bucks anyway out in Sin City.
Nonetheless, while no one in Los Angeles is buying winter clothing anticipating a February trip to the Twin Cities to cheer on the Rams, stranger things have happened.
Anyone remember Leicester City winning their first English Premier League championship after being a preseason 5,000-1 shot?
How about Buster Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson in 1990, or the sixth-seeded North Carolina Wolfpack beating Houston at the buzzer, 54-52 in the 1983 NCAA final?
The New York Jets in 1968 took down the favored Baltimore Colts 16-7 to win one for the old AFL, putting the league on equal footing with the very dominant NFL.
More recently, the 2001 New England Patriots rebounded from a 5-11 season to beat a favored St. Louis Rams team in Super Bowl XXXVI 20-17, effectively launching the franchise and their unlikely starter, Tom Brady into NFL super-stardom.
Hey, it could happen.
So, if there are any takers at 150-1, recent history shows that some unlikely if not improbable things can happen.
And who knows, maybe the Rams can make a little history of their own.
