2017 NFL Power Rankings: Where do Los Angeles Rams stand heading into Week 1 preseason?
By Dan Parzych
10. Seattle Seahawks
Defense has been the main factor behind the Seattle Seahawks earning a trip to the postseason in each of the last five seasons, and that trend will most likely continue once again in 2017 to bump that streak up to six. The Seahawks are defending NFC West champions for a reason, and after suffering an embarrassing loss to the Atlanta Falcons in the playoffs, Richard Sherman’s squad will be even more motivated to bounce back stronger.
On top of having one of the league’s best defenses, phenomenal doesn’t even begin to describe what Russell Wilson was able to accomplish on offense last season for Seattle. Seeing Wilson put up the type of numbers he did while dealing with numerous injuries along with playing all 16 games during the regular season shows how tough of a quarterback he truly is, and without him, who knows where the Seahawks’ offense would be.
With that being said, Wilson enters the preseason fully healthy with an improved offensive line on top of receiving extra help in the backfield following the signing of Eddie Lacy. In other words, Wilson could end up having his best year to date in 2017 if all goes well for Seattle.
