2. Will offensive line show improvement?

Entering the offseason, the Los Angeles Rams realized one of their top priorities needed to be providing better weapons for Jared Goff to work with after the offense ranked at the bottom of the league last year by only averaging 14 points per game. And while the Rams certainly came through for their quarterback after bringing in key players like Sammy Watkins and Cooper Kupp, the team also knew the importance of protecting Goff as well.

In a way, it was unfair for Goff to receive some of the criticism that he did as a rookie when considering Los Angeles didn’t do the best of jobs with providing the necessary protection. With that being said, one of the biggest surprises of free agency this offseason was the Rams landing one of the top players the market had to offer in Andrew Whitworth.

To see a veteran like Whitworth choose to join a team like Los Angeles after spending all of those years as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals shows how much confident the lineman has in new head coach Sean McVay. Thanks to the presence of Whitworth, Goff’s job should be much smoother during his sophomore season, and it will be interesting to see how well this new offensive line performs against the Dallas Cowboys.
