2017 NFL Power Rankings Preseason Week 2: Los Angeles Rams take major step forward

31. Cleveland Browns (31)
Believe it or not, the Cleveland Browns were considered one of the biggest winners this offseason thanks to all of their success in free agency along with the NFL Draft, and in just one preseason game, some of their new rookies are already showing a ton of potential. All eyes will be on the level of impact Myles Garrett will make as a rookie season after the former Texas A&M standout was selected at No. 1 back in April, but as always, it’s going to be the quarterback position that will be the difference maker for the Browns.
Originally, the plan for Cleveland after acquiring Brock Osweiler from the Houston Texans was to just release him since what they truly wanted in the deal was the extra second-round pick. However, things have taken an interesting turn for the Browns over the last few months after Osweiler was named the starter for the first preseason game against the New Orleans Saints.
While Osweiler ended up playing four series for Cleveland, the star quarterback of the game was rookie DeShone Kizer, who completed 11 of 18 passes for 184 yards with a touchdown. The chances of the rookie starting for the Browns in Week 1 may seem like a long shot at the moment, but it will be interesting to see if Kizer can continue playing at that high level for the rest of the preseason.
