With the Los Angeles Rams trimming their roster down to 53 players, here are five key names left off the list.

Saturday’s deadline for NFL teams to trim their roster down to 53 players has officially passed, and for the Los Angeles Rams, there are plenty of players worth discussing from this year’s list. While there were a handful of names who failed to make the cut as expected, the Rams pulled off a few surprises decisions as well that only time will tell when it comes to whether it was the right move.

Obviously, the one big name that Los Angeles fans will be talking about for the rest of the weekend is wide receiver Nelson Spruce after all of the excitement heading into training camp that he was finally healthy, only to end up getting hurt again. As much of an impact Spruce could have been to the passing game in healthy, the Rams deserve some credit for realizing this was a risk they couldn’t afford to take this time around after seeing how it all played out for the wideout last year.
