2. Josh Forrest

During the 2016 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams used a sixth-round pick on former Kentucky standout Josh Forrest, and after appearing in 10 games for the team as a rookie, the linebacker had looked pretty solid for the most part over the last few weeks. Unfortunately for Forrest, the Rams seemed to have different plans for the linebacker after he was one of the surprise cuts made by the team on Saturday.

Then again, it should also be noted that Forrest was waived with an injury designation, so it’s tough not to wonder if he’s still dealing with some issues that forced him to miss some time towards the end of last year. Still, many believed Forrest had played well enough during the preseason to make a strong case for a roster spot, and just like some of the other names on this list, it will be interesting to see if he’s considered for the practice squad.

Defense has been a key role to the Rams’ success over the last few years since the offense hasn’t been much to brag about. With decisions like this to release Forrest, all fans can do is trust Wade Phillips and company for having a better idea of knowing what they’re doing with these moves.
