1. Mike Jordan

The decision to move on from cornerback Mike Jordan may have been the biggest surprise of Saturday for the Los Angeles Rams when considering how many times he received heavy praise for his play on defense. Once again, this is the perfect example that nothing is guaranteed in the NFL since the thought of Jordan being left off the roster didn’t even seem to cross the minds of Rams fans heading into the weekend.

Cornerback was an interesting position for Los Angeles heading into training camp for the No. 2 spot since they placed the franchise tag on Trumaine Johnson for the second year in a row. Even after trading E.J. Gaines to the Buffalo Bills, Jordan seemed to be a likely candidate to have a better chance for playing time during the regular season, assuming he was going to earn a roster spot.

There’s no question Los Angeles made the right decision to reward Kayvon Webster with the No. 2 spot alongside Johnson at cornerback, but their choice to move on from Jordan is still a questionable one. All Rams fans can agree that when it comes to some of the biggest surprise cuts, Jordan deserves to be near the top of that list, if not No. 1.
