After a dominant performance against the Indianapolis Colts, let’s look at five takeaways from the Los Angeles Rams impressive 46-9 win in Week 1.
Don’t look now, but the Los Angeles Rams beginning to earn a little respect across the league after starting off the year with an impressive 46-9 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. With a new head coach in Sean McVay, everybody knew the Rams had the potential to make some noise in 2016, but it’s safe to say nobody expected them to put on this kind of performance in Week 1, even if the Colts were dealing with numerous injuries.

Between the offense running smoothly while being led by Jared Goff to Wade Phillips getting the best from his defensive unit, there is plenty of great things to discuss about Los Angeles over the next couple of days, as the team had one of the best performances in the NFL from Week 1. To go from averaging 14 points per game in 2016 to putting up 46 points in the first game of a new season shows how much of a difference one year can make with numerous key changes, but even the Rams realize they still have a long way to go.
For now, Los Angeles can at least spend the next day or two enjoying what turned out to be quite the coaching debut for McVay. So without wasting anymore time, here are five takeaways from the Rams first victory of the season against the Colts.
