Could it be the foregone conclusion that it’s Seattle and everybody else in the NFC West is wrong? Could it also be that the long time standard bearer in the pacific time zone just isn’t anymore?

Maybe.

In two games, first against the Green Bay Packers in a loss on the road 17-9, and this past Sunday at home against the 49ers in a win, Seattle looked like a favorite a little less.

I’ll concede that the betting money is still on the Seahawks, and until someone knocks them off the top of the hill, it’s theirs to lose.

But it’s hard to look at what the Rams have done offensively in two games, a win against the Colts in Week 1 46-9, and a loss Sunday in Week 2 against the Redskins 27-20, and not believe they can’t or won’t move the ball against any opponent.

For Los Angeles, keeping pace when the opportunity presents itself is critical.

Also, when comparing roster to roster this week, the Rams will have better talent on both sides of the football, especially at the quarterback position.

As for Thursday, this is one of those winnable games you circle on the schedule and say, “that’s a lock.”

For the Rams, when you need to keep pace with the front runner, a game against San Francisco becomes “must win.”
