LOS ANGELES, CA – SEPTEMBER 17: Todd Gurley /

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley had a good day on Sunday. In Week 2, he would rush for 88 yards on 16 carries, while also adding 48 receiving yards on three catches to his stat line.

For fans, seeing the one time Offensive Rookie Of The Year catching and running for positive yards was a sight to see for a long time coming.

But was Sunday a preview of things to come?

If you’re betting, hold off on booking that wager.

I like Gurley, but I’d like to see him put some games together where he’s a genuine factor on offense for opposing defenses. Right now, and after two games at home, the Rams need to show some consistency to build upon. And as good as the running back was on Sunday, he needs to be again on Thursday night.

Yesterday he proved to be a valuable weapon out of the backfield for Goff. His ability to catch the screen and accelerate on the fly is something that had been missing for the Rams, and its loads better than Tavon Austin on a jet-sweep for a couple of yards.

If Gurley can be the guy again, he’ll bring a dimension to LA that only helps his young quarterback.

That’s good for Goff and good for Gurley.
