This is a big game for the Rams. A win keeps them on the plus side of .500, especially when the next one on the schedule is against the Dallas Cowboys.

It’s also one of those games that, especially coming off of a loss at home, a winnable game no less, that you want to take advantage of.

Make no bones about it; the Los Angeles Rams will be the better team on field, even at quarterback in Week 3. That’s something you couldn’t say in 2016 at any one point of the 16 games they played in.

But beyond that, this is a game McVay knows is important for a young team going on the road. The Rams should beat the 49ers, and over 17 weeks, you have to win the games you know you should win.

Also, a loss heading to Dallas sets LA up for a potential 1-3 start.

Frankly, that’s a disaster for a young team they don’t need and are better than.

The Los Angeles Rams have a chance to get to a logical and reasonable 2-2 when they hit the quarter mark of the 2017 season. And after having lost a winnable game at home against the Redskins, they need to rebound and win against a lesser opponent in San Francisco.
