Rams at 49ers: 3 Predictions for Week 3
By Steve Rivera
The Los Angeles Rams defense got their lunch handed to them on Sunday afternoon in the LA Coliseum. The Redskins ran at will, and moved the ball up and down the field with little resistance. If Aaron Donald was hoping to have an impact in his first game back, he was disappointed, as was the remarkably sparse crowd who showed up to watch.
Wade Phillips will fix this. You won’t find anyone on that side of the football who’ll make an excuse.
From ESPN:
“We gotta play better on the run,” said LA defensive tackle Aaron Donald.
“We just weren’t playing physical enough to stop the run,” said Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree.
LA’s defense can’t and won’t make a habit of giving up 229 yards of rushing in 2017, especially against the 49ers this Thursday night.
San Francisco is the team to get back on track against, and looking at what they’ve done in two games, it’s not hard to see why.
In two games, quarterback Brian Hoyer has thrown for only 292 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions, and in 23 third down chances, the 49ers have made only four first downs.
Four.
Yes, San Francisco is the NFL city to roll into needing to get right, especially on defense.
