The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers put on an offensive show in Santa Clara, as LA notches their first road win, 41-39.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff continued his improvement in Week 3, as he led LA to a 41-39 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

For the Rams, 41 points almost didn’t seem like enough, as another subpar performance by the Los Angeles defense kept Brian Hoyer and the Niners in it until late in the fourth quarter.

Running back Todd Gurley had a remarkable evening in his Color Rush “swag,” rushing 28 times for 113 yards, and two touchdowns. He’d add five pass receptions for 36 yards and another TD for three scores on the evening.

As for Goff, the second year quarterback finally notched both his first road win and win in the NFC West, throwing for 22 of 28, for 292 yards and three touchdowns. He managed to get a big effort from wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who became the QB’s go to guy Thursday night. Watkins caught six passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns, his first in a Rams uniform this season.

As efficient as the Rams offense was, the defense continued to struggle for their second straight game, giving up 421 yards of total offense to a 49ers team who hadn’t scored a touchdown in their first two games, but scored five against an LA defense that can’t seem to get it together.

The Rams move to 1-0 in the NFC West, 2-1 overall, as they get ready for a Week 4 road trip to Dallas to play the Cowboys.  San Francisco, despite a solid effort, remain winless on the 2017 season, 0-2 in the division, and 0-3 overall. They next play the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale.
