Los Angeles Rams: Todd Gurley paying off big for fantasy football owners so far
By Dan Parzych
Fantasy football owners who took a risk on Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley are pleased with his high level of production so far.
Around this time last season, fantasy football owners who used a first-round selection on Todd Gurley were feeling plenty of frustration towards the Los Angeles Rams running back, and rightfully so when looking at the lack of production on offense. However, it was unfair to put all of the blame on Gurley when considering the Rams didn’t exactly do the best of jobs with providing him the best offensive line to work with.

Not to mention, it was difficult for Gurley to post big numbers since Los Angeles was trailing a majority of time in games last season, but all of that has changed for the running back during his third year with the team. In fact, through the first three games of the 2017 season, Gurley has already matched his touchdown total (six) from a year ago to go along with 361 yards from the line of scrimmage, which is putting all sorts of smiles on the faces of fantasy football owners who decided to take a risk on the former Georgia standout.
Prior to the start of the 2016 season, Gurley wasn’t afraid to speak his mind by suggesting to owners that he would make it worth it for them by selecting him with the top overall pick in fantasy football leagues. But thanks to all of the struggles surrounding the Rams on offense, all of those owners who used an early pick on Gurley would go on to regret that decision after he failed to record a single 100-yard rushing game.

Luckily, Gurley was able to put an end to that unfortunate drought that went back all the way to the 2015 season by putting a stellar performance together against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 by recording 113 rushing yards to go along with three total touchdowns (one through the air). All of a sudden, Gurley seems to be heading towards a monster fantasy football season, and the owners who were willing to take the risk in their drafts are already seeing a high reward from the running back.
