Lamarcus Joyner ruled out for Rams in Week 4 against Cowboys
By Dan Parzych
The Los Angeles Rams will be without safety Lamarcus Joyner on Sunday when they face the Dallas Cowboys.
Despite an impressive performance against the Indianapolis Colts to kickoff the NFL 2017 season, the Los Angeles Rams have looked far from impressive on the defensive side of the football over the last two weeks, especially in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers. Hopefully, Wade Phillips can figure out a way to turn the unit around sooner rather than later since the Rams would love to continue competing for the NFC West title, but it looks like the defensive coordinator will be without one of his key players against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Turns out, Lamarcus Joyner has already been ruled out for Week 4, as the safety has been dealing with a hamstring injury. And while someone will hopefully step up in Joyner’s absence, this news is crushing for Los Angeles since they already face the difficult challenge of facing one of the league’s most high-powered offenses in Dallas.
As bad as the defense has looked at times over the last two games, Joyner has been one of the bright spots for the unit so far in 2017. Not to mention, Joyner was one of two defenders (Trumaine Johnson) who managed to return an interception into the end zone opening weekend against the Colts.

Rightfully so, Los Angeles is currently underdogs on the road against Dallas, and if the defense continues to play like they have over the last two weeks, it’s going to be tough to escape with a win come Sunday. But as for Joyner, here’s to hoping the safety recovers fast enough to return for the Rams in Week 5 when they face the Seattle Seahawks for the first of two meetings this season.
