Rams’ Aaron Donald highest graded interior defender by PFF Week 4
By Dan Parzych
Don’t look now, but Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams is beginning to heat up after all of training camp and preseason.
At the moment, the Los Angeles Rams are one of the most talked about teams in the NFL due to their surprise 3-1, including a big statement win in Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys. While the offense led by Todd Gurley and Jared Goff played a key role in the Rams earning this tough win on the road, it was the adjustments made on defense in the second half by Wade Phillips that ended up being the main difference maker.

After allowing the Cowboys to put up 24 points in the first half, the Rams appeared to be heading towards another high-scoring outing, kind of like the previous week in which the San Francisco 49ers ended up with 39 points. However, Phillips deserves all of the credit in the world for getting his unit back on track in the second half, especially since it helped Aaron Donald take home some impressive honors for the week.
That’s right, it was Donald who was rated the highest graded interior defender from the fourth game of the 2017 season, which is quite impressive for the defensive superstar after missing all of training camp and preseason due to a holdout. There were some concerns early on from the Rams when it came to what type of shape Donald would be in after missing all of this valuable time, but performances like this against the Cowboys shows he’s beginning to look like his usual dominant self.
As for whether a new contract will come anytime soon from the organization, Los Angeles fans can only hope so when seeing how valuable Donald’s been over the years. But for now, the most important factor is the Rams are currently on top of the NFC West with a 3-1 record, as Donald and company prepare for what should be an epic division showdown against the Seattle Seahawks.
