The Los Angeles Rams get a shot at earning some national credibility in Week 5, when NFC West rival Seattle visits the Coliseum.

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley gets to add to a great first quarter of the 2017 season when LA and the Seattle Seahawks meet in a divisional matchup at the Coliseum on Sunday.

Next: Who's best in NFC West?

For the Rams, after a monster win in Dallas in Week 4, they now get a second chance to silence those in the media who think they are due for a fall back to earth, and a reasonable about of mediocrity.

For Seattle, well, they’ve been quite average in 2017. Sure, they erupted against the Colts at home, but more than a few teams will do the same against a bad Indianapolis team.

In the balance, is who will be the pacesetter in the NFC West. That role has belonged to the Seahawks for a few seasons now. But after back to back Super Bowl appearances, including a Lombardi Trophy, Seattle looks to have become very average. No longer are they either “elite” or a “lock” to win a division.

The Rams get the Seahawks at the right place and at the right time. If Los Angeles is for real, they’ll prove it on Sunday. A win will move them to four wins, matching their win total from last season. It also gets them to two wins inside the division, with Arizona still two weeks out.

If LA is going to change the perception, winning against a “beatable” Seahawks team is critical.
