If you think the Jacksonville Jaguars snuck up on you, you’re probably right. Quarterback Blake Bortles and company looked to be a mess during the preseason, but not so much now.

Week 6 for the Los Angeles Rams may have an eerily similar feel as Week 5 did. In fact, from an offensive standpoint, some of the struggles we saw from Jared Goff may reappear this week.

And therein lies the rub.

Sean McVay faced some criticism after the loss to Seattle. All that seemed to be clicking leading up to the NFC Showdown last week, certainly seemed to click less against the Seahawks.

Certainly, had Cooper Kupp made the acrobatic catch when it was there to be caught, LA heads east with a 4-1 record.

But he didn’t, and they don’t.

This game between these two 3-2 upstarts will boil to who has the better defense. For the Rams to win, they’ll have to be improved on offense.

Goff can’t make the costly mistakes he made last week, Todd Gurley has to be more involved, and bet Sammy Watkins has more targets and is a bigger part of McVay’s game plan.

As good as the Los Angeles offense has been, winning games when they are there to be won can’t simply be missed opportunities. Against Seattle, the game was there to be had.

The Rams need this one before jetting off to London. The offense needs to be better against a solid Jacksonville defense.

Like last week, it won’t be easy.
