The Los Angeles Rams desperately need to become friends again with the end zone. As good, in fact great, as Greg Zuerlein has been, he is human and he is fallible as fans saw last week against Seattle.

No question about it, LA has maybe the best special teams in the NFC, maybe even in the league. But as much and as often as they’ve bailed out the Rams offense, the Rams offense needs to lend a hand.

Against Jacksonville, count on seeing Los Angeles locked into a battle of field position. Look for Zuerlein to get a lot of work, but also look for the Rams offense to get something going with Gurley to give Goff a chance to find the end zone.

The Rams can and will win games where Zuerlein is the feature for points. But that’s a bad way of doing business. Goff struggled with touch on the long ball. Jacksonville will certainly force him to to throw into a defense that completely shut down Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers offense.

Not unlike what Seattle did to him last week.

The Rams can beat the Jags with field goals. A low scoring game would be a smart bet. But the Rams need to convert their offensive game plan into touchdowns. Counting on seven field goals to win won’t always translate.

Look for Week 6 to likely be decided by the kicking game.
