While not quite the midway point of the 2017 NFL season, the Los Angeles Rams are 5-2 with a very high ceiling after the bye week. Here are some key storylines to keep an eye on.

Los Angeles Rams fans can take a lot of good feelings and optimism into the team’s bye week.

A 5-2 record will do that.

But five wins won’t mean a whole lot outside of one more win over last season if things go south in LA’s last nine games. The Rams now have the attention of the NFL world, and with that, the expectations that hyperbole can bring.

Beginning November 5, Los Angeles will be on the road for five of their last nine games starting with the New York Giants. December alone will have them playing in Arizona, Seattle, and Tennessee, perhaps the Rams toughest slate of games. Included in that is a home matchup with quarterback Carson Wentz, the second overall pick in last years NFL Draft.

Post the bye week, we all will find out just how good Los Angeles is or isn’t. We will know if the first seven games was more reality or more of a mirage. We will also learn if Jared Goff is the quarterback fans and the Rams were hoping for, or the one critics believed him to be.

The next nine games will say a lot about LA, and whether this is the year they have arrived, or if it’s one year to early.
