4. New England Patriots (3)

Despite all of the early concerns, the New England Patriots appear to be back on track thanks to the defense finally playing at a higher level after looking flat-out awful during the first few games. With the defense allowing 17 points or during the team’s four-game winning streak heading into the bye week, the Patriots hope to continue that streak against the Denver Broncos in Week 10 while playing in front of a national audience.

A few weeks ago, New England seemed to be in for a difficult matchup since Denver looked like one of the teams to beat in the AFC. And while the Broncos still have plenty of time remaining in the regular season to make that happen, the Patriots seem to be the better overall team at the moment, especially on offense.

By sending Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers before the trade deadline, New England made a huge statement when it comes to trusting in Tom Brady to lead this team for years to come, even into his mid 40’s. And as crazy as that sounds, it’s quite believable when looking at how effective the future Hall of Fame quarterback continues to be on a weekly basis.
