2017 NFL Power Rankings Week 10: Los Angeles Rams continue to impress following bye

26. Arizona Cardinals (27)
Acquiring Adrian Peterson in a trade from the New Orleans Saints was probably the best move the Arizona Cardinals could have made a few weeks ago, as Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers made it clear the veteran still has plenty of gas left in the old tank. Keep in mind one of the main reasons why the Minnesota Vikings made the difficult decision to part ways with Peterson in the offseason was due to their belief he didn’t have what it takes to still be an effective running back.
After seeing Peterson earn 37 carries against the 49ers while finishing with 159 rushing yards, it’s safe to say nobody doubts the running back’s ability anymore since this was a win Arizona desperately needed. Embarrassing doesn’t even begin to describe what went down for the Cardinals in London two weeks ago when they were shutout by the Los Angeles Rams, and after the devastating news surrounding Carson Palmer, a win like Sunday against the 49ers was just what the team needed to boost their confidence moving forward.
4-4 may not seem like the best of records, but the last thing anyone should do is rule Arizona out when looking at all of the pressure some teams are facing in the NFC. Of course, the true test for the Cardinals will come on Thursday when the team faces a familiar face in the Seattle Seahawks.
