Cooper Kupp continues to be steal after Rams wideout earns PFF midseason All-Rookie Team honors

With the Los Angeles Rams at the halfway point of the NFL 2017 season, rookie Cooper Kupp recently earned some PFF honors.
Back in April, the Los Angeles Rams felt pretty confident that former Eastern Washington star Cooper Kupp would end up being one of the biggest steals of the 2017 NFL Draft after the team used a third-round pick on the wideout. Through eight games, Kupp has already worked his way into being one of Jared Goff‘s favorite targets in the passing game after catching 26 of 48 passes thrown his way for 370 yards with three touchdowns.

While these numbers may not seem that impressive when compared to some of the other top wideouts across the NFL, keep in mind that Goff has been one of the best in 2017 at spreading the football around on offense since he has plenty of other weapons like Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods to work with. But at least from Kupp’s perspective, the impact he’s been able to make so far for Los Angeles on offense has been good enough to earn him some recognition from the folks over at Pro Football Focus.
After seeing all of the receivers selected ahead of Kupp in April, the rookie has every reason in the world to be thrilled to be part of a list like this when looking at some of the other big names ranging from Kareem Hunt to Deshaun Watson. Not to mention, JuJu Smith-Schuster, who was selected in the second round of this year’s draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, is turning into another steal like Kupp when looking at the type of impact he’s been able to make in such a short period of time.

What’s even more exciting about Kupp is this appears to be the start of something amazing when it comes to the Rams’ offense led by Goff after seeing all of the success the unit has made during their first year under Sean McVay. Los Angeles knew a receiver that caught 428 passes for 6,464 yards to go along with 73 touchdowns in college was too good to pass on in April, and here’s to hoping Kupp plays well enough to see his name on this list again once the regular season comes to an end.
