3 predictions for Rams and Saints in Week 12
By Steve Rivera
Or do they?
As interesting as Jared Goff dueling with Brees may be, the battle of coaching wits between Rams head coach Sean McVay and Sean Payton could really be something.
The problem for Los Angeles, who won a pinball like football game in Week 3 against NFC West cellar dweller San Francisco, is Brees is a quarterback who excels when the chips appear to be down.
Also, Minnesota showed how to slow Rams running back Todd Gurley and Goff to a halt, and you have to wonder what kind of adjustment McVay will make to insure his offense isn’t stalled as it was in Week 11. If that becomes a reliable blueprint for how to stop LA. winning may become tough down the stretch.
The Rams got off to a fast start against the Vikings, and will want to do the same against New Orleans. For Los Angeles to win in Week 12, Wade Phillips and his defense will need to contain Drew Brees and give Goff as much time on the field as possible.
Look for a high scoring game that may go deep into the fourth quarter, and Goff and Brees to air it out all afternoon.
