The Los Angeles Rams got a much needed win, as they beat the NFC South leader New Orleans Saints, 26-20 in the Coliseum.

The Los Angeles Rams got a needed win in Week 12, beating the New Orleans Saints in the Coliseum, 26-20. LA got a monster performance from quarterback Jared Goff, who went 28-43, for 354 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

The Saints, who came in with an 8-2 record, were stymied by a solid Rams defense that saw their veteran quarterback Drew Brees struggle to get anything going, finishing his day with 22 completions on 32 attempts, for 246 yards and one touchdown.

On a day that had the Rams most productive offensive weapon, receiver Robert Woods, on the sideline nursing a shoulder injury, LA got the depth chart involved finding names that typically are only mentions on Sunday.

Sammy Watkins was targeted nine times, catching four passes for 82 yards and a TD.
Tyler Higbee had three catches for 48 yards.
Josh Reynolds had six targets, catching four passes for 37 yards and a touchdown.

Rookie receiver Cooper Kupp would have a big day, with eight catches for 116 yards.

But best of all this afternoon, Los Angeles had zero hangover from a tough loss in Minnesota, 24-7. Credit Rams head coach Sean McVay, who was quick to take some professional responsibility after an unproductive day against the Vikings. Goff spread the ball around, working the Saints defense, and put LA in enough scoring opportunities to keep Brees and the Saints on the sidelines, and on the down side of the scoreboard.

The Rams will close out the month of November with a record of 3-1, and despite a win by Seattle against NFC West rival San Francisco 24-13, will continue to lead the division, with a road game next week in Arizona to play the Cardinals.

Next: Will Rams make playoffs in 2017?

Los Angeles opens a tough December schedule in Week 13 against Arizona, before a huge, possible prime time matchup against Carson Wentz and the NFC East leading Philadelphia Eagles.

With the win today, the Rams move to 8-3.
