With December upon us, it’s a curious question if the Los Angeles Rams can go 5-0 to wrap up the season and a remarkable 2017.

The Los Angeles Rams hit the final month of the season at 8-3, and looking for all the world like a genuine and bonafide playoff team, AND a might be Super Bowl contender.

The Rams open December and travel to Glendale for a Week 13 game against NFC West rival Arizona, for a rematch that saw LA bring the wood to the Cardinals in a 33-0 shellacking of the once division and Super Bowl contender.

This first of five December games makes one wonder, especially given the schedule, if Los Angeles can run the table in the final month and go 5-0?

Intriguing, yes?

A quick glance shows no “world beaters” with the exception of the Philadelphia Eagles, who will take up a two week residency on the West Coast, playoff both the Seattle Seahawks AND the the Rams in Weeks’ 13 and Week 14 respectively.

Beyond that, Los Angeles gets a schedule that has them the better team if not favored for the month of December.

First, the Cardinals, sans a genuine starter gives LA a reasonable advantage in Week 13.

Then Philadelphia, after a likely tough and physical game in the Pacific Northwest against a desperate Seahawks team. LA may see a tangible benefit.

The Seahawks in Week 15, beat up on defense and on the road is intriguing, except that they have been hanging on to what they were, and playing football as who they actually are: Average to good.

Tennessee Titans: Bottom line, outside of New England and maybe Pittsburgh and lately the Los Angeles Chargers, the AFC is garden variety at best.

Of note, both Seattle and a Tennessee are back to back road games with the Titans on Christmas Eve. That said the Rams have been genuine road warriors this season.

Finally, Los Angeles closes 2017 with the most intriguing of all the December matchups, the San Francisco 49ers. A team I’m betting is better on New Year’s Eve against the Rams than at any point this year.

So, 5-0?

Hard to see. But as the Los Angeles Rams make a case for the postseason, know they’ll be the better team four out of the five times they line up in December.

That’ll give them a fighting chance .
