Here’s how Los Angeles Rams can clinch playoff berth in Week 15
By Dan Parzych
Once again, it’s time to take a look at how the Los Angeles Rams can clinch a playoff berth in Week 15 of the NFL 2017 season.
Losing to the Philadelphia Eagles at home was a tough break for the Los Angeles Rams since there aren’t many contests in which they end up on the losing end after putting up 35 points. To top it off, the Rams face another difficult matchup in Week 15, as they take on a familiar face in the Seattle Seahawks, who ended up on the winning end when these two teams met for the first time back in October.
At the moment, Los Angeles leads their division rivals by a full game in the NFC West with a 9-4 record, but all of that could change come Sunday if Seattle ends up on the winning end since they would move into first place due to the head-to-head tiebreakers. But if the Rams do figure out a way to come through to avoid being swept by the Seahawks this season, it would give them a much better chance of earning a trip to the postseason.
In fact, Los Angeles is once again in position to possibly clinch a playoff berth this weekend if a few scenarios work to their advantage, with the most important factor being earning a win against Seattle. The Rams may need a lot of help to clinch if they end up defeating the Seahawks, but here’s a better look at what will have to happen for that playoff berth to take place in Week 15.
When taking everything into consideration, the chances of Los Angeles actually clinching this weekend may seem slim when considering factors like the chances of the New Orleans Saints losing at home to the New York Jets seems highly unlikely. Not to mention, it’s safe to say Matthew Stafford will be extra motivated to make sure the Detroit Lions don’t lose at home either to the Chicago Bears in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Then again, this is the NFL, and anything is possible on a weekly basis, but also the main focus for the Rams will simply be winning against the Seahawks since none of the other factors will matter with a loss. Either way, let’s hope Los Angeles avoids another loss against Seattle since this would be terrible timing to have their first losing streak of the 2017 season when each of the remaining three games is extremely important.
