With an upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks, the Los Angeles Rams hope to see a big game from Jared Goff on offense.
At the moment, the Los Angeles Rams are sitting comfortable with a one-game lead over the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West standings, making Sunday’s game between these division rivals even more meaningful from a playoff perspective. As crazy as it sounds, the Rams could actually find themselves looking from the outside in the NFC playoff picture if they end up losing to the Seahawks come Sunday, depending on the results of a few other games in the conference.
Losing to Seattle the way they did earlier in the season was beyond frustrating since Los Angeles seemed to be on their way to a win after jumping out to a 10-0 lead, only to allow Russell Wilson and company to score 16 unanswered points on their way to a 16-10 win. Yes, that loss hurt at the time for the Rams since this would have made a major statement when it comes to them deserving credit for being a team to beat not just in the division, but the NFC in general.
Luckily, Los Angeles has earned plenty of respect since that game when looking at some of their key wins ranging from the Dallas Cowboys to the New Orleans Saints. And while there are plenty of key factors behind the surprise success of the Rams this season, it’s safe to say Sean McVay‘s squad would not be sitting with a 9-4 record if it wasn’t for Jared Goff elevating his game to a whole new level during his second season.
Without question, Goff has been playing at a MVP level for Los Angeles this season when looking at how he already has 22 touchdown passes to date, and should be able to top the 4,000-yard passing mark, assuming he doesn’t collapse over these final three games. However, when looking at the two occasions he’s faced the Seahawks over the last two years, there’s some reason for concern surrounding Goff heading into the Week 15 matchup for the Rams.

The fact that Goff is still in search of his first career touchdown pass against Seattle despite facing them twice dating back to last year shows how much the defense has had their way against the former California standout. But with the Rams in a completely different situation this time around, here’s to hoping Goff actually comes through against the Seahawks to keep his team in the hunt for a playoff spot in the NFC, or the final two games are only going to be more stressful.
