The Los Angeles Rams crush the Seattle Seahawks on the road, winning in dominating fashion 42-7.

Call it what you want, but one thing is for sure, the Los Angeles Rams took the Seattle Seahawks to the woodshed today in the Pacific Northwest, winning 42-7, securing 10 wins on the season, and taking a two game lead in the NFC West.

It was a game reminiscent of the Rams opener against an over-matched and undermanned Indianapolis Colts team they’d beat 46-9, with Los Angeles getting out of the gate fast, building a lead, and never looking back.

Seattle was never in it.

The star of this game, and you can make an argument for two players actually, but the Rams player who dominated without question was running back Todd Gurley, and he was spectacular.

The third year running back would rush for 152 yards on 21 carries, scoring three touchdowns. He ran around and through a beleaguered Seahawks defense that could only watch, as the days of dominating at home have likely come to an end.

Returner Pharoh Cooper, still my favorite player from the 2016 NFL Draft, would have two returns for 52 yards, and 7 punts taken back for another 128, as special teams for the Rams continue to be a leading storyline week in and week out.

As for quarterback Jared Goff, he was workmanlike, going 14 of 21, for 120 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Backup Sean Mannion, from Oregon State, would get some playing time, entering in the final quarter and completing one pass for four yards. By the time Mannion would enter, the decision was long decided.

In all truth, you can say it was decided at the end of the first half, as the Rams would take a 34-0 lead into the locker room.

As for Seattle, it was quarterback Russell Wilson and no one else. To his credit, Wilson was the best and only productive part of the Seahawks game plan, despite being under siege all game and sacked seven times by a relentless Los Angeles defense. Wilson would complete 14 passes on 30 attempts for 142 yards and one touchdown. He’d also rush for 39 yards on five carries.

And that was about it.

Los Angeles takes a two game lead in the NFC West to a Week 16 game on Christmas Eve against the Tennessee Titans, before closing out the season against NFC West opponent San Francisco in Week 17.
