The Los Angeles Rams face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in a key Week 15 battle between the two NFC West rivals.

With three games remaining, the Los Angeles Rams hope to continue building a strong case when it comes to earning a playoff spot in the NFC, whether it ends up being through a Wild Card or simply winning the NFC West. At the moment, the Rams currently hold a one-game lead in the division heading into Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, but everything could change in Week 15 if Sean McVay‘s team ends up on the losing end.

Thanks to their win earlier in the year, the Seahawks find themselves in position to take over the NFC West if they come through with another win against the Rams on Sunday since that would mean an official sweep of their division rivals for the season. Facing a playoff-caliber team like Seattle on the road is never an easy task for any NFL team, but when looking at how well Los Angeles has played on the road at times this year, let’s hope they can figure out a way to use some of that magic on Sunday.

Heading into the weekend, there was actually a scenario in which the Rams could clinch a playoff berth with a win against the Seahawks, although they would need a lot of help from four other teams in the NFC. But with the Detroit Lions having little trouble getting by the Chicago Bears on Saturday night, the whole clinching scenario for Los Angeles was quickly thrown out the window, as the team will have to wait at least another week for an opportunity.

Yes, this is depressing for Rams fans to see, but also there’s no reason to make a big deal since the team understood right away clinching a playoff berth this weekend was going to be a long shot anyway. At least with Detroit, Los Angeles can focus all of their attention on accomplishing what’s most important, which is coming through with the win against Seattle.

Then, if the Rams do end up on the winning end against the Seahawks, that would result in a two-game lead in the division, and give them a better chance of clinching a playoff berth next weekend. But if this is going to happen for Los Angeles, Jared Goff will need to figure out a way to overcome previous struggles against his division rivals in Seattle.
