The Los Angeles Rams again prove to be money on the road, beating the Tennessee Titans 27-23, and clinching the NFC West.
The Los Angeles Rams did more than beat the Tennessee Titans in Week 16. They also managed to slay a few dragons, exact some revenge, and defy all kinds of odds and logic in 2017.
There MO all season long.
The Rams beat the Titans 27-23, and in doing so, won a division title, and also head home for another big game with NFC West foe San Francisco 49ers to close out the NFL regular season in the Coliseum.
Los Angeles quarterback Jared Goff had a solid day, going 22-38, for 301 yards and four touchdowns. He was solid in a game where kicker Greg Zuerlein wasn’t available and special teams looked really shaky at times.
As for the star of game game, would be MVP running back Todd Gurley was again exceptional.
Gurley had 118 yards on 22 carries, while also having 158 yards on 10 receptions.
He dominated once again, and continued to keep the pressure on the default choice for MVP and NFL media darling, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
But this is less a day about the statistics and the minutia of numbers. It’s a day where the drag of mediocrity and underachieving bevome part of history, an winning is back in fashion in LA.
Given the comments of idiots like former Rams head coach Jeff Fisher, a day like today is more about the billiance of first year head coach Sean McVay, and his ressurecton in Goff.
That relationship should not be understated or go without its proper context given his 0-7 start.
Next: Jeff Fisher doesn't get it
The Rams go home for a Week 17 match-up with the up-and-coming 49ers and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
Los Angeles moves to 11-4 on the 2017 season, and clinch their first division title since 2003.
