The Los Angeles Rams lost to their division rival the San Francisco 49ers 34-13. LA, who never had a lead in the season finale, also were never in it. And as for those wondering what McVay and the organization had on the depth chart, well now you know.

Los Angeles backup quarterback Sean Mannion had an underwhelming kind of day, completing 20 passes on 34 attempts, for 169 yards. if you’re looking for a silver lining, he also had no turnovers in the game. Additionally, the Rams were dismal on the ground, rushing for only 102 yards, with Malcolm Brown getting the bulk of the yards with 54 on 14 carries. Running back Lance Dunbar, acquired in the offseason, did find the endzone for LA.

As for the 49ers, they finish the month of December unbeaten, winning five in a row with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo under center. Garoppolo who was part of an NFL trade deadline deal, looks to have solidified the QB position heading into 2018. despite two interceptions, he’d finish his day throwing for 292 yards, on 20 of 33 and two touchdowns. San Francisco finished the 2018 season with a promising record of 6-10.

Next: Will Goff come through in postseason?

Los Angeles meanwhile, have their starters rested as the playoff season looks to get underway next weekend in the Coliseum. With a record of 11-5, MVP candidate Todd Gurley will look to keep an amazing season going in the postseason, as will second year quarterback Jared Goff. First year head coach Sean McVay, a candidate for NFL Coach of the Year will also be part of a Rams teams who has gone from 4-12 in 2016, to 11-5 in 2017.
