Former Rams quarterback Case Keenum should gets some love for league MVP

Former Los Angeles Rams quarterback Case Keenum should get some much deserved consideration for NFL MVP.
We all remember former Los Angeles Rams and current Minnesota Vikings quarterback Case Keenum. The former LA starter saw a little love come his way this morning when talk of NFL MVP rolled around.
And why not? The Vikings are 12-3 and a leading contender to not just win the NFC, but win a Super Bowl.
Not bad for a guy jettisoned from the Rams and tied to a 4-12 Rams team who failed miserably in 2016.
And look at him now.
I’ll admit, I like Keenum. He’s a solid guy who was in a bad situation in Los Angeles. Without the burdensome mediocrity of a Jeff Fisher hanging around his neck, he’s managed to find a good deal in Minneapolis that has him thriving and winning.
As does former Rams quarterback Nick Foles and current QB Jared Goff.
There’s an ESPN 30 for 30 in there somewhere.
Unlike the aforementioned Goff, Keenum will have to audition AGAIN most likely, come the 2018 season as Teddy Bridgewater is now healthy and the preferred starter in the Twin Cities.
Which is too bad for the former Los Angeles starter.
Keenum is likely relegated to that role of backup regardless of his success as a starter. He doesn’t bring that pedigree or media driven hype that a lot of successful and not successful quarterbacks bring to a franchise.
Meaning he’ll always have to earn it.
Next: Can Goff deliver for Rams in postseason?
Ask him, and he’s probably alright with such an arrangement. He was used to grinding in Houston, Los Angeles and will be fine doing the same in Minneapolis.
Only this time he’ll had a division title on his resume and a lot of winning to go along with it.
And maybe even a Super Bowl.
