Johnny Hekker

First off, congratulations are in order for Johnny Hekker after being named to the All-Pro Team for the fourth time in his career, which really isn’t that much of a surprise when looking at how valuable he’s been for the Rams on special teams throughout his career. There’s a reason why Hekker has established a reputation for being one of the best at what he does, and similar to Cooper, it’s tough to imagine Los Angeles being as successful on special teams if their beloved punter wasn’t part of the picture.

In a way, Hekker also deserves plenty of credit for toughening it out all these years when looking at how long it’s been since the Rams were actually contenders in the NFC. And up until this past season, Los Angeles certainly kept their punter busy for the most part since the offense struggled for the most part when it comes to putting up points.

Believe it or not, Hekker’s 65 punts in 2017 were a career low by a long shot, but also a big part of that is due to the Rams finishing on top of the league by averaging 29.9 points per game. But at least when Hekker was called upon throughout the regular season, the punter continued to prove he was one of the best by averaging 47.9 yards per punt.
