2017 will be the season the Los Angeles Rams retired one era, and began another. With an 11-5 regular season record and an 0-1 in the playoffs, the trend in LA is pointing up. However, four games this season show how this team established a new identity.

It’ll be hard to not find an opinion on the Los Angeles Rams and their stunning success in 2017. Fans and NFL watchers alike could see how Sean McVay was turning the tables on the abject mediocrity that had overwhelmed this franchise, and had begun charting a new course.

But to look at a snapshot of this season and each quarter of 2017, you can find four games that best define why the trajectory for the Rams moving forward is so high, and why Los Angeles may soon become a favorite destination for free agents.

Ultimately, it became equal parts culture change, a new offensive vision, and some key wins that began to push a narrative of success. It also began to showcase that second year quarterback Jared Goff had moved beyond bust and was trending toward a consistent league starter.

Anyone who watched the Rams won’t be able to point to any one game that suddenly changed their fortunes, but four games worth noting would become indicators of what kind of team the Rams would ultimately become.

After 11 wins and 6 losses, Los Angeles can say they aren’t a one hit wonder.

It’s now a solid foundation.

McVay and General Manager Les Snead have some tweaking, and personnel questions that will need to be addressed, but the DNA in LA has definitely been established.
