The Los Angeles Rams played one of their best games despite the outcome, and fans of both teams got to see nearly 60 minutes of “what if” along the way.

All told and prior to his injury, second overall pick Carson Wentz WAS the better draft day quarterback on the field. Goff wasn’t bad, but he did cough one up late in the game that took a potential scoring drive away from the Rams.

Most importantly LA, even in a loss, showed the ability to hang with who was the clear cut favorite for not just a conference championship, but a possible Super Bowl title.

The Eagles and Wentz were that good.

Unfortunately for Philadelphia, their possible MVP quarterback was lost for the season, as was maybe a legitimate shot at a Lombardi Trophy.

For Los Angeles, they’d eventually go on to destroy the reigning NFC West champions in Seattle 42-7, and wrap up the division the following week in Nashville against the Titans.

The loss to the Eagles was maybe the best measuring stick the Rams would see in 2017.

McVay delivered when fans and the league least expected him to.

they won’t be a surprise this time next year.
