Alabama. Rashaan Evans. 11. player. 59. . Linebacker

Continuing the conversation of teams that failed to live up to high expectations this season, the Miami Dolphins are right near the top of the list as well after taking a major step back one year after emerging as a surprise contender in the AFC. Clearly, the decision to convince Jay Cutler to come out of retirement was a terrible idea when looking at how inconsistent his play was, and while the Dolphins could easily use this pick on a quarterback depending on who’s available, don’t be surprised if they end up going with someone on defense.

For instance, Rashaan Evans is the kind of edge rusher Miami could certainly use on the defensive side of the football when looking at what the linebacker was able to accomplish during his final year with the Crimson Tide. In fact, the last two years at Alabama make it seem like Evans is the type of player who is only going to get better with experience, giving him a ton of potential at the NFL level.

Plus, when a team like the Dolphins plays in the same division as Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, defense is the only way to come out on top. Looking at a player with the size and speed of Evans, this could be a solid pick for Miami.
