2018 NFL Mock Draft: Los Angeles Rams select Donte Jackson first round
By Dan Parzych
One can only imagine how different this season would have been for the Los Angeles Chargers if it didn’t take the team until Week 5 to win their first game since they were in the running for a playoff spot during the final weeks. But on a positive note, at least the Chargers seem capable of coming back in 2018 as one of the top teams to beat in the AFC, as long as they can start the year off on a better note.
In fact, the argument can be made that Los Angeles will enter next season as one of the top overall threats when seeing how much talent they have to work with on both sides of the football. With the 17th pick in the first round, the Chargers have a few different options to consider when the time comes for them to be on the clock, but at the end of the day, making sure Philip Rivers is well protected seems to be the most important.
Despite the numbers he is still capable of putting up, Philip Rivers is at a point in his career where Los Angeles needs to be extra cautious about some of the hits he takes. When seeing Kolton Miller’s ability to prevent defenders from getting to quarterbacks during his time at UCLA, this could be a great pickup for the Chargers.
